Introduction
The Graduate Institute of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 1974. The Ph.D program was established in 1992. The School of Chinese Medicine Resources was established in 2002. We were reorganized to “Department of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chinese Medicine Resources” in 2010. The mission of the undergraduate program is as the first department to train students in the field of Chinese medicine and biotechnology in Taiwan. The mission of the postgraduate programs is to nurture research manpower and teachers in the field of Chinese medicine.

Objective of Education
The goal of the undergraduate program is not only to educate students the specific knowledge of Chinese medicine, also to educate them with identification of Chinese medicinal, plant tissue culture, medicinal chemistry (extraction, purification and identification of pharmacologically active ingredients), clinical efficacy of Chinese medicinal, marketing and management of Chinese medicinal, quality control and cultivation of Chinese medicinal plants. In addition, the department includes modern molecular and cellular biology techniques in the education and research. These educations will serve as the basis for our students to become experts in the field of Chinese medicine.
